Who are ‘they’?

“It is so clear. So obvious”.
“They made her resign.
She was doing so well, but they just wanted her gone!”
“They always target, you know, whom!
It was always what they want and when they decide”.
“You don’t know it is their conspiracy”.
“They want us to believe in this, so they can scare us into compliance.
and they have the power”.
“First it was …. then it was this … and now this!”
“They are always after our freedom”.
“Can’t you see what their plan is”.
And then, “I heard this doctor/scientist/whosoever, contradicting everything going on, He/she/it says we are being silenced, because they don’t want the truth to be told”.
And I’m always wondering who they are!
These nameless, faceless ‘them’!
Who are ‘they’?
